Nature-Inspired Handmade Jewelry – Riverside Morning Color Palette
Share
That morning, I met a friend at a small riverside café in Chiang Mai.
It was a white house with wooden-framed windows, soft sheer curtains, and large glass panels that let the light pour in. A sky-blue metal staircase led us upstairs, where the whole place opened up — the café, the river, and an endless stretch of green trees. It felt like you could reach out and touch the leaves.

By the river, there was a swing.

By the river, there was a swing.
I sat on it for a long time, gently moving back and forth, looking up at layers of green above me. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, falling in warm, golden pieces across my face and skin. I didn’t want to leave.
Outside, the café was filled with flowers and plants. There were also many cats wandering around. We spent our time taking photos, laughing, and stopping every few minutes just to pet them.

We ordered coffee and sat by the water.
Birdsong, insects humming, the quiet flow of the river, the wind brushing through the trees — and our soft conversations layered into it all. It’s the kind of sound you don’t forget.

That morning was filled with colors:

That morning was filled with colors:
deep blue, deep green, soft green, and white.
I wanted to hold onto that moment.

So I turned it into something I could keep.

So I turned it into something I could keep.
Using these colors as my base, I created a series of handmade necklaces. I added touches of khaki — a quiet nod to the coffee in our hands, and the soft fur of the cats around us.
That morning now lives on — not just in memory, but in each piece I made.
Necklace 1 — A Quiet Ocean Memory
A composition of deep blue, translucent green, and soft ivory seed beads, layered with over ten variations. One side forms a sculptural bouquet, clustered and full, like flowers gathered by the river. A Czech glass teardrop bead in soft blue sits beside it.
On the other side, shell spacers and gold accents create rhythm, with two delicate green bead strands falling like water droplets.

The pendant — a natural fan-shaped shell holding a soft blue pearl-like bead — carries the calm of the ocean.

It feels like the memory of sunlight on water, and the quiet anticipation of summer.
Necklace 2 — A Breeze from the Pacific
Translucent greens, ivory, and khaki tones intertwine with shell elements — conch shapes, clovers, moons — alongside coffee-bean glass beads with gold detailing.
A small fish-shaped Czech bead swims quietly among them.
The asymmetry mirrors the way nature arranges itself — effortless, unplanned.

Wearing it feels like catching a breeze by the sea, the same gentle wind that moved through the riverside trees that morning.
Necklace 3 — Joy in Bloom
This piece is playful and layered — deep blues, soft browns, translucent accents. A small dog-shaped coconut bead becomes the center, with tiny floral beads “blooming” from it, symbolizing joy growing freely.
Wooden beads, leaf shapes, and frosted Czech glass create texture and warmth.

It carries the same carefree happiness as sitting on that swing, feeling time slow down.

Necklace 4 — Little Fireworks
A star-shaped coconut clasp becomes the highlight — filled with scattered beads like tiny fireworks frozen in time.
Shells, leaves, sunflowers, and wood textures bring a lively, playful feeling.
The blue-and-gold Czech glass pendant adds a touch of brightness.

It reflects the small sparks of joy from that morning — light, unexpected, and full of charm.

Necklace 5 — A Collected Moment
A double-layered piece, rich in detail. One side holds a sculpted floral cluster, while the other balances it with shells, deep blue stones, and leaf beads.
At the center, layered strands create depth — like overlapping memories.

The pendant, shaped like a delicate perfume bottle, feels like capturing the scent of that morning: coffee, trees, and sunlight.

Necklace 6 — Softness
Built around soft greens and whites, this piece feels calm and grounding. Shells and organic shapes flow naturally, while a small bouquet pendant sits gently within a glass bead “vase.”

It carries the quiet tenderness of that morning — the kind that makes everything feel softer.

Necklace 7 — A Dragonfly Pause
Deep blues and soft neutrals come together with natural stones and glass beads.
At the center, a dragonfly rests — its wings shaped from elongated beads, its body carefully assembled.

It feels like a moment suspended in time — like watching something small and beautiful land near you, just for a second.

Necklace 8 — Sweet & Cool
A playful balance of sweetness and edge. A small cat-shaped coconut bead blooms with flowers, while a sculpted floral cluster sits opposite.
The Cancer zodiac pendant in deep blue adds a quiet intensity.

Like that morning — soft, bright, and a little unexpected.

Necklace 9 — Vintage Blue Layers
A double-layered necklace built in deep blue tones, with subtle contrasts.
Top layers sit close to the neck, while the lower strands carry pendants — a cylindrical glass bead and a small chick detail.

It feels nostalgic, like looking back at that morning through a slightly faded lens.

Necklace 10 — A Fresh Summer Piece
Light blues, greens, and whites create a refreshing palette. Shells, natural stones, and soft dangling beads echo the movement of water.
At the center, a bouquet sits inside a blue-and-white glass “vase.”

It’s bright, airy, and made for summer — like that sun-filled riverside morning.

In my studio, it was the breath of the ocean. In this cafe, it is the rustle of the leaves and the scent of coffee. I’ve come to find that these colors belong to both. They are the distant horizon and the present moment, woven into one. Wear a piece of this journey. Wear a memory that feels like home, wherever you are."
